Q.I haven’t received an e-mail confirmation. Why not?
A. . The most likely reason is that there is a problem with the e-mail address you gave on your profile. Go into Amend Profile and check.

Q.Will I have to pay to use the information and services part of the site?
A. No you won't! That part will remain completely free.

Q.I've forgotten my password. What do I do now?
A. In the Log In window, you will find an icon “Forgotten your password?” Click onto that and we will e-mail your password to you.

Q.If I register, are you going to bombard me with unwanted e-mails?
A. Absolutely not! You will only receive targeted e-mails about products, services and special offers you are likely to be interested in. We will control our database at all times and it will not be sold or leased to a third party. It is unlikely that you will receive more than one such e-mail a month. However, if you do not want to receive this information you can check the appropriate box in your profile page, or you can reply to an e-mail by typing unsubscribe in the subject box.

Q.My search for a sporting partner has not brought up many matches. Why is that?
A. A number of possible reasons. Maybe you have been a little too specific in your requirement. If you widen your search a little, more matches are likely. Also, don't forget that sportingpartners.net is new. Inevitably, it will take time to build up membership. We are spending a lot of money every month marketing the site, but you can help us by telling your friends and colleagues about us!

Q.How confidential is the site? I don't want my e-mail address given to just anyone.
A. Don't worry, it won't be. When people do a search, they will see the profiles of other members but not any personal contact details or even a surname. Messages can be sent and received within the sportingpartners.net site with no personal details such as e-mail address, phone number or home address ever being shown.

Q.I don't want to have contact with one of the members who have sent me their profile. How do I do that without revealing my e-mail address?
A. If you do not want to make contact all you need do is to check the Delete & Auto Regret box in the Profiles Received page. A regret message will then automatically be sent to the person. Remember the messaging service remains within the site and so no personal information is ever revealed.

Q.I have submitted my profile to another member, but have had no reply. Why is this?
A. We would like everyone to have the courtesy to reply to another member's e-mail, especially as it is so easy to do so (see the above question). Unfortunately, we cannot force people to have the good manners to respond.

Q.Why is the site sometimes slow to navigate?
A. Lots of reasons! We have designed the site to be quick and easy to use, so the likely causes of slow navigation are problems with your ISP, your computer and modem and the time of day you are on-line. We do sometimes have problems at our end, but we work efficiently to ensure we solve any problems quickly. If you continue to experience difficulties, please contact us.

A. Unfortunately, we can take no responsibility for the people you meet through Sportingpartners.net. We do not carry out any face-to-face interviews or 'vetting' procedures. We recommend that you get to know each other as much as possible via the sportingpartners.net messaging service without divulging your e-mail address, home address or telephone number. Meet in a public place, not forgetting to tell a friend or a member of your family where you're going, whom you're meeting and what time you intend to return home. We also suggest that you make your own way there and back and not to accept offers of transport. Basically, use your common sense and trust your instincts.

Q.How do I cancel my membership?
A. Go into your Home Page, click on My Membership and then Cancel My Membership.

Q.I want to stay a member, but do not want to receive any profiles or have my profile sent to anyone for the time being. What do I do?
A. Go into your Home Page, click onto My Membership and then Suspend My Membership. You will not receive any profiles during this time nor will your profile be sent to anyone else. When you're ready to receive and send profiles again, click on the Reinstate icon in your Home Page.

Q.Will sportingpartners.net cater for disabled sport?
A. Yes, this is an important part of the site. You are able to search for disabled sports now and it is our intention to have a dedicated web site to enable easy disabled access. This will take time, so please bear with us.
